carrying wood

The power of obedience
Posted by  in Dying to Self
Sometimes the analogies of the Lord are hard to grasp. This one isn’t. One day Jesus explained to His followers that in order to be His disciples, they each must “take up their cross daily and follow Him.” (Luke 9:23) Everyone knew this meant carrying the wood of their own crucifixion. It must have shocking.
This wasn’t the first time the Lord requested someone to carry wood for their own sacrifice. Abraham asked his son Isaac to carry wood up Mount Moriah. (Genesis 22:6) We often think of Isaac being a young boy who didn’t know what he was doing. But from the Jewish historian Josephus, we learn that Isaac was in his mid-twenties and knew exactly what he was doing. In obedience to his father he carried wood knowing he himself would be laid upon it and sacrificed. He lovingly surrendered his life in obedience to God’s command.
I hope you are getting this. Each believer is required to carry the wood of their own crucifixion. I can’t carry yours and you can’t carry mine. We walk up the mountain alone in our obedience to the Lord. Some days not many sacrifices are made. We may even go for a time forgetting our obedience and commitment to carry wood. Then it happens… we are called to make a major sacrifice for the Lord. It may be a relationship. It may be a career adjustment. As the wood on our back grows heavy, we are reminded of what it means to a true follower of Christ.
Carrying wood always means you are altar ready. You don’t have to spend days or weeks getting ready to turn things over to the Lord. The Holy Spirit doesn’t have to keep convicting you of the same old issues. No, you are ready daily to sacrifice yourself in complete obedience, because you carry around with you the wood of your own crucifixion. Are you carrying wood today?
A few years ago someone passed out some large spiked nails with a purple ribbon attached to them on Easter Sunday. We were supposed to carry a nail with us to remind us of Jesus’ sacrifice. Nothing wrong with doing this. The truth is … I don’t have problems in remembering what Jesus did. His sacrifice on the cross is fresh with me everyday. The area I neglect is in carrying the wood of my own obedience. Hammer and nails are not my responsibility. I am only responsible for carrying wood… carrying my cross daily. We are called to be altar ready twenty-four, seven. Jesus’ obedience is complete, but ours is not. We will not be judged on how many nails we carried… only wood. What are you carrying today?

The Four Laws Of God's Blessing

The Four Laws Of God’s Blessing

58

“I will bless you … and you will be a blessing.” (Genesis 12:2 NIV)

1. Our blessings should flow to others.

The Bible teaches us that we are blessed not just so that we can feel good, not just so we can be happy and comfortable, but so that we will bless others. God told Abraham in Genesis 12:2, “I will bless you ... and you will be a blessing” (NIV). This is the first law of blessing: It must flow outwardly.

How do you bless others? By serving a need, whether it is physical or emotional support, financial help, or practical advice. "Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand" (Philippians 1:4 MSG).

2. When we bless others, God takes care of our needs.

God promises that if we will concentrate on blessing others, he’ll take care of our needs. There’s almost nothing that God won’t do for the person who really wants to help other people. In fact, God guarantees this blessing. In Luke 18, Jesus says, “I guarantee this. Anyone who gives up anything for the kingdom of God will certainly receive many times more in this life and will receive eternal life in the next world to come.”

When you care about helping other people, God assumes responsibility for your problems. And that’s a real blessing, for he’s much better at handling your difficulties than you are.

3. Our blessings to others will come back on us.

The more you bless other people and the more you help others, the more God blesses your life. Luke 6:38 tells us, “Give away your life; you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back — given back with bonus and blessing” (MSG). You cannot out-give God. The more you try to bless other people in the world around you, the more God says, “I’m going to pour blessings out on you. We’ll play a little game here. Let’s see who will win. Let’s see who can give the most. The more you bless others, the more I’m going to bless you in return.”

4. The more we’re blessed by God, the more he expects us to help others.

Jesus said it this way in Luke 12: “Much is required from the person to whom much is given; much more is required from the person to whom much more is given” (GNT). We are blessed to be a blessing.

Talk About It

Based on the blessings of your life, what would you say God expects from you?

- What are the needs around you for which you can use your gifts to be a blessing?

START YOUR DAY ON YOUR KNEES | GIVING PRAISE AND THANK UNTO GOD

Today has been a blessed day and not just today but the whole week, but i want to tel you specificaly about today...

This morning started with me opening my eyes after just a few  (4) hours of sleep; and feeling tired due to the lack of sleep, rushing to get done for work as i always do  i decided to make a change in my morning routine simply by starting my day on my knees, and wow does it make a big difference...

So this morning i spend just over a minute  on my knees in prayer to give thanks and  give the day to God, there is just something about being on your knees before God and making time for Him and to be in HIs presence for just over a minute has turned my whole day around for it was filled with:
Energy & concentration to complete the task at had,
passion and happiness was never far behind and
Gods mercy and blessings was all over me and the people i came in touch with; even the store  Criebo Design was so blessed in revenue and productivity today.

I realize that how blessed i truly am and all i did was spend  more then a minute with God so this makes me think : HOW MUCH MORE WILL HE NOT BLESS US  and FAVOR US if we spend more time with him. So
because i was so blessed i had to bless others  and it was an amazing moment of fellowship

Gods Mercy and Favor surround me today. He is Directing my steps and making every crooked path straight. I am surrounded by His Divine Protection

FEAR

FEAR

How often do we say, i wish i haven’t done that.?
I know i do it every so often.
Why do we limited our self when the world is our playground?
why do we let fear get in the way of what we want.
why are we scared to take chances and makes a success of it, -
everything is within our reach and it all starts with a dream.
dreams do come true,
i believe every day is a dream, live is a dream,
but its up to us what we make of it.
I am pinned down with fear in my heart.
The same fear that keeps me enchained from reaching my dreams.
The fear of not trying.
The fear of failure.
The fear of losing and even dying.
it seems we have a fear for everything, but my biggest fear is being affraid of being me.
The fear of being alive and live the life i am destined to live…

The Simple Message That Brought This Middle School Class to Tears

ACCEPTANCE

We all search, seek acceptance, but God says I have already accepted you, for you only need to accept Jesus as your Savoir, that is the only step we need to take. It is the simplest and yet also the hardest thing we will every have to do if we are bound in our sinful natures. You are accepted and fully approved by THE MOST HIGH, and all you have to do is to stand up, step into and live the life that is rightfully yours. Study the word of God, feed yourselves on the word of God, live the word of God and go out and spread the word of God. Be grateful unto the Lord for he has wonderful and fearfully made you. YOU ARE A MASTER PIECE YOU ARE UNIQUE & YOU ARE CRAFTED BY A KING more Royal then any royalty that could exist on this earthly Realm.

 PS.139

Psalm 139

For the choir director: A psalm of David.

Lord, you have examined my heart
    and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
    You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!
I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave,[a] you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
11 I could ask the darkness to hide me
and the light around me to become night—
12     but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light are the same to you.
13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16 You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
17 How precious are your thoughts about me,[b] O God.
    They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
    you are still with me!
19 O God, if only you would destroy the wicked!
Get out of my life, you murderers!
20 They blaspheme you;
    your enemies misuse your name.
21 Lord, shouldn’t I hate those who hate you?
Shouldn’t I despise those who oppose you?
22 Yes, I hate them with total hatred,
for your enemies are my enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

A Prayer For When You're Feeling Weak

A Prayer For When You're Feeling Weak

Tuesday, August 19, 2014 #prayer #weakness #Gospel Grace
I hate weakness.
I don't like to feel inadequate or incapable. I don't like being dependent on others. I don't like not knowing what's going to happen. I don't like feeling helpless in the face of a trial. I don't like feeling spent and overwhelmed. I don't like it when I am physically weak, emotionally weak, mentally weak, or spiritually weak.
Did I mention that I don't like being weak?
But ironically, God's word looks at my weakness differently. It's part of the prerequisite for coming to Christ. Jesus said in Luke 5:31-32, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.” He came to call those who are sinful and weak and desperate and broken and lost. He came to take our burdens and free us from our slavery to sin. "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:28-29).
The reality of my weakness hit me this past week when I fell and broke my arm. I had to rely on other's to help me do the simplest of things. Even as I type this, I have to hit delete over and over for the number of mistakes I am making trying to type one handed. My arm throbs and aches. This injury, though not tragic or life altering, is a good reminder that I am weak, not just physically but also in every other way.
But there is hope for my weakness. This is not an eternal condition. I am not locked into this weakness. It doesn't define me and it doesn't rule me. Jesus came to become weak for me. He took on frail human flesh and lived in this world of sin. Completely perfect, he faced all the temptations I face but never sinned. He felt the weight of weakness that comes with humanity but always obeyed. He trusted his Father, relied on the strength of the Spirit, and bore the weight of my sin on the cross.
Jesus was made weak so that I could be made strong.
When God looks at me, he doesn't see my sin, he sees Christ. When I face weakness of any kind, Jesus is with me, through the power of the Spirit. He is strengthening and enabling me to go through trials so that I might grow in holiness. He is using my very own weaknesses to show me just how much I need him. He is drawing me into greater reliance upon his grace.
And he's doing the same for you.
Our weakness is no match for Christ. It's not an obstacle he has to overcome. He doesn't look at us and bemoan the fact he's not been given the cream of the crop. Rather, he laughs at weakness and says "Look what I can do with it." He uses a runaway murderer with a speech disorder to free his people from slavery. He uses a resistant, rebellious, and tribal hearted prophet to preach repentance to the most violent society of the day. He pulls the worst of sinners from the clenches of Satan and transforms him into a missionary to the Gentiles, giving that same missionary a "thorn in the flesh" to remind him of his constant need for Christ:
"So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong" (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).
If the reality of your own weakness is mocking you today, go to God in prayer. Plead with the Lord about it and rest in his power made perfect in weakness.
This prayer is for you and me:
Dear Father,
I come to you today feeling so weak and helpless. There are many thing on my plate, so many worries, so many uncertainties, so many things that I just can't do. Every time I think about what lies ahead for me, I feel overwhelmed. When I consider carrying this burden for days on end, I feel like I just might drown. Everything seems impossible.
You said to come to you with my burdens. The Bible says you are our "Rock" and our "Fortress." You are all knowing and all powerful. You know the burdens that I bear. You are not surprised by them. In fact, you've allowed them into my life. I may not know the purpose for them, but I do know that I can trust your goodness. You are always faithful to do what is best for me. You care most about my holiness, even above my immediate happiness. I ask that you remove this burden from me, take away my weakness, but ultimately, I desire most of all that your will be done.
I confess that I hate this weakness in me. I don't like not knowing what to do. I don't like being incapable and insufficient. Forgive me for wanting to be sufficient in myself. Forgive me for wanting to be in control. Forgive me for complaining and grumbling. Forgive me for doubting your love for me. And forgive me for not being willing to trust and rely on you and your grace.
This weakness in me shows me how much I need Jesus. For he was the All Sufficient One; the second person of the Trinity who clothed himself with the weakness of human flesh. Only the perfect Son of God could perfectly obey and fulfill all the law's demands. Only Christ could do what we could not do. May this weakness of mine be an ever present reminder that Jesus became weak for me, dying in my place, and rising in triumph from the grave, so that I could be strong through your transforming grace.
When I look into the future and see my weakness, help me to trust you. May I, like Paul, embrace my weakness so that you can be my strength. May you work through my weakness to change me. May I glorify you in my weakness, looking away from myself and to the wonders of your amazing love through Christ.
Grant me gospel joy, even in the midst of this struggle. It's because of Jesus and through Jesus that I can pray, Amen.

SORROWS FORETOLD

What sorrow awaits you who are rich
for you have your only happiness now.
What sorrow awaits you who are
fat and prosperous now,
for a time of awful hunger awaits you
What sorrow awaits you who laugh now for your laughing
will turn to mourning and sorrow
What sorrow await you who are praised by the crowds
for their ancestors also praised false prophets

DEAR GOD...

Dear God...

I have reached a place where i feel so destitute, empty,  like a tree busy dying from the root up. My heart beat weakens day by day and even when the sun is out my heart feels only the dark of the night, as if i am walking without sight  i stumble and fall over every day just waiting for the big Plunge, into the unknown, where the final curtain for me will be drawn. Where has this happy person that was once filled with dreams of hopes and a bright future, a devotee to life, has now become detrimental, despondent to my surroundings

My gentility seems to have erode as my kind heart withers like the leaves of a tree.

Lord, how do i neutralize or correct the immutable, to which my heart has become so obscured?

Lord, i come to tell You simply that i love you and that i need You and that there is no other place than in Your arms, i wish to be. I came to tell You that i am sorry for running in circles and for placing my focus on my ways and not on Your Grace knowing that You are the only one that brings me through the storm, Lord i am so forgetful but you always remind me that You are the only one who brings me Peace.

JUST BE AVAILABLE

Today has been a  very inspiring day and as quoted by +Sizwe Mlamli  Mpato "its gonna be a long day" and even thou the work day ended at 5 om it has indeed been a long but most blessed spiritual day.

The day started with the morning formalities like a cuppa coffee while listening to worship music and while i was adding signage to the shops window that reads  " THANK YOU GOD FOR BLESSING ME WITH MUCH MORE THEN I DESERVE" and while i am listening to the Worship song Dearly Loved by Jimmy Needham. with the following lyrics that made me have  a light-bulb moment...
"When all things you've acquired
Are tested by the flames
And you can see them melting
Then will you call his name

Which then lead to the conversation between Sizwe and my self bout  the flames of life and are we able to stand against them, when he confirms with the following scripture 1 Corinthians 3 verse 11-15

For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, [d]precious stones, wood, hay, straw,13 each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test[e]the quality of each man’s work. 14 If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

and shortly thereafter Logan came by and w just got deeper in to the word when Cherise walked in  talking about her experiences & encounters that she had with God and how He is busy changing her whole life around when she decided to make her self available to His will and plan.

She quoted that"God does not need your skills but rather your availability to do his work" and it is in this statement i find that we always plan life ahead  according to the skills and abilities we have and first need to acquire before we can accomplish anything.Even if God is calling us to do his will we always say but Lord im not ready for i have not the skills instead all we need to do is be available and trust in Him fully because it is in doing this that we realize that no matter what plans we make Gods plan will always prevail. it only takes us much longer to reach our destiny when we try to follow our own plans and hearts desires instead of His plans  and desires for us.

So make your self available to the will of God that is already in you and listen to the voice of God after all being obedient is our GIFT TO GOD

I hope that this has been inspiring to you.

Be blessed , stay blessed for you are blessed to be blessed

Amen

May God peace be with you always

Please share this with your friends, family and loved ones
